Mother’s Day is all about showing appreciation, and according to new data, just under half (46%) of moms say they want to kick off celebrations early to maximize their relaxation time throughout the day. From morning mimosas to leisurely brunches, moms are making it clear that the earlier the festivities start, the better. Don’t leave planning to the last minute. The mom in your life deserves a day that’s all about her from sunrise to sunset.

The Perfect Setting: Scenic Views and Chef’s Menus

When it comes to dining out, moms know exactly what they want. Nearly two-thirds (64%) of moms ranked a waterfront or scenic view as the top feature for their ideal Mother’s Day meal. Fine dining experiences are also a must, with just over half (51%) of moms saying a chef’s tasting menu is a non-negotiable. This year, booking a spot with great ambiance and a memorable menu could be the ultimate way to wow mom.

Multiple Celebrations Keep the Fun Going

A single brunch might not be enough this Mother’s Day. An overwhelming three-quarters (73%) of moms surveyed said they want to celebrate with a family brunch alongside their children. However, the celebrations don’t stop there, two-thirds (66%) of U.S. consumers plan to mark the occasion multiple times over the weekend, whether that means more family gatherings, special outings with friends, or even solo treats. Bottom line: mom deserves more than one party.

An online survey was conducted by Walr among 1,542 US consumers who will be celebrating Mother’s Day this year. Minimum quotas have been applied to major cities. Fieldwork took place between Friday 14th March – Tuesday 18th March 2025. Data has been collected adhering to MRS (Market Research Society) and ESOMAR guidelines to ensure ethical and accurate data collection.
