According to new survey findings, nearly nine in ten American adults (87%) plan to take between one and six flights over the course of 2025. This surge in anticipated travel highlights a busy summer season ahead, with many individuals eager to reconnect with both business and leisure opportunities.

Personal and Business Travel on the Rise

When asked about their travel expectations, just under half (45%) of respondents said they intend to fly more this year compared to last. More personal events like weddings and reunions (56%), increased business travel (34%), and a continued interest in making up for travel missed during the pandemic (30%) are the primary motivators fueling this trend.

Packing Habits Reflect Evolving Traveler Preferences

The survey also explored how travelers are preparing for their trips. A notable two-thirds (69%) report always or occasionally checking a bag, though among those who avoid it there are concerns over cost (42%), time (42%), and reliability (39%). Packing behaviors vary widely, with almost half (46%) choosing to pack well in advance, including 18% a full week before departure. However, there are still those of us out there who like to live on the edge, with 16% packing the morning of their flight.
